Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Independence Day last year, laid down a visionary target of transforming India into a $5 trillion economy by 2024-25. The announcement of a Rs 102 lakh crore infrastructure pipeline, under the National Infrastructure Pipeline, by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman last year was seen as a step in that direction. But things did't fall into place thereafter.
