BluSmart Drivers Left In The Lurch As Gensol Case Unfolds
BluSmart Drivers Demand severance, past dues and alternative employment; Rocky Road ahead for Female drivers as they seek opportunities outside BluSmart

Drivers of cab aggregator service BluSmart are bearing the brunt of the unfolding Gensol Engineering case. Over 10,000 BluSmart drivers - both male and female - from the Delhi-NCR region alone, have been casualties of the alleged scam by the Jaggi brothers.
On Sunday morning at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, the union formed by suspended drivers gathered to stage a protest expressing their displeasure against the ongoing indefinite fleet suspension and demanded social security from the BluSmart team. They're also demanding that government authorities find a solution. Although the leaders of the union expected over 500 drivers to join the protest, less than 40 showed up.
The drivers, many of whom claim to have been left unemployed without notice, allege that the company's financial crisis—linked to its parent entity Gensol Engineering—has left them distressed and without a source of income. The protest is being led by the BluSmart Drivers’ Union in collaboration with the Parivahan Morcha, which has submitted a 10-point note of demands to authorities.
Among the major demands are reimbursement of previous dues, social security cover for all drivers, severance packages for those impacted, and formal assistance in securing alternative employment. The union also called for accountability from BluSmart’s management, raising concerns over the alleged misuse of investor funds for personal luxuries by the Jaggi brothers.
In addition to financial and employment-related concerns, female drivers from BluSmart have reported discrimination and discouragement as they seek new opportunities. Several women drivers allege that companies have rejected their applications based on gender.
“Finding jobs has been harder for us. Despite our experience, companies have turned us away just because we’re women,” said one former BluSmart driver.
The union and protesting drivers have appealed to the Central and State governments to intervene and facilitate a resolution, emphasizing that thousands of livelihoods are at stake.
As the crisis unfolds, BluSmart and Gensol have yet to issue a formal public response addressing the concerns raised by drivers.
