82% Of Indian Workers Eyeing Job Changes In 2025: Aon Study Reveals

A majority of workers in India are contemplating changing employers in 2025, as per a recent study by Aon. The 2025 Employee Sentiment Study, which surveyed over 9,000 employees across 23 geographies including the U.S., UK, China, India, and Australia, found that 82% of Indian employees are either in the process of moving employers or might seek new employment within the next 12 months. This is notably higher compared to the global average of 60%.
Moreover, the study also highlighted that nearly 33% of new joiners in India seek new employment within six to twelve months of starting their job.
As per the survey, the Indian workforce highly values benefits like, work-life balance programs which are essential, as they help employees manage their professional and personal lives effectively. Medical coverage is another top priority, providing crucial health support and peace of mind. Career development opportunities are also highly valued, enabling employees to grow and advance in their careers and another key benefit is paid time off.
Nitin Sethi, head of Talent Solutions for India at Aon, noted the growing importance of benefits, wellness, and healthcare programs in shaping employer brands and employee value propositions. He emphasised that post-Covid, employees increasingly value these programs, and companies are actively branding and communicating their availability to current and future employees.
Medical coverage emerged as one of the highest valued benefits across all generations surveyed in India, with Gen X and Gen Y rating it higher than Gen Z. Gen Z, however, rated work-life balance as their top-valued benefit. Additionally, 76% of those surveyed expressed willingness to sacrifice existing benefits for a better choice of benefits, highlighting the need for businesses to align their total rewards and benefits strategies with changing workforce expectations.
