Russia's President Vladimir Putin found talks with US President Donald Trump substantive and is willing to move peacefully to resolve issues, Kremlin posted Putin's comment, as reported by Bloomberg.
The Russian leader also found Alaska visit useful and timely. He talked on causes of war in Ukraine.
Putin and Trump met Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage located in Alaska last Friday. The two leaders could not reach an ceasefire agreement which Trump has emphasised earlier. Russia has demanded surrender of territories in the meeting, as reported by Bloomberg.
After the Putin and Trump meet, the US is ready to meet with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy this week. Trump will host Zelenskiy at Oval Office on Monday.
Zelenskiy has refuted to give up land to Russia earlier.
In a call to European leaders, Trump said that Putin wants Ukraine to give up the control of Donbas region, Bloomberg reported. The European counterparts have expressed angst after getting details and noted that Putin is gaining the most.
However, White House remained tight-lipped about the meeting unwilling to divulge any information.
