Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava continues to dominate the box office, entering the Rs 200 crore club on the sixth day of its release. The film received a major boost from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti holiday on Feb. 19, driving its collection by over Rs 30 crore in a single day.
"With a massive over Rs 30 crore collection on Wednesday, Chhaava has hit it out of the park once again. In fact, its Day 6 earnings are nearly on par with Day 1 (Valentine’s Day), which is truly outstanding," trade analyst Taran Adarsh said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.
Chhaava Box Office Collection Day Wise
Day 1, Friday, Feb. 14: Rs 33.10 crore
Day 2, Saturday, Feb. 15: Rs 39.30 crore
Day 3, Sunday, Feb. 16: Rs 49.03 crore
Day 4, Monday, Feb. 17: Rs 24.10 crore
Day 5, Tuesday, Feb. 18: Rs 25.75 crore
Day 6, Wednesday, Feb. 19: Rs 32.40 crore
Total: 203.68 crore
The film, a biopic of the 17th-century Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, a revered figure in Maharashtra, is making a strong impact at the box office across the western state.
Adarsh highlighted that Chhaava showed no signs of slowing down in Maharashtra, with improved occupancy seen in Rajasthan and West Bengal on Feb. 19.
He also predicted that the current trends estimate that Chhaava is likely to dominate the box office until Salman Khan’s Sikandar premieres on Eid, March 30.
With this new milestone, Vicky Kaushal's film also became the first release of 2025 to enter the Rs 200 crore club. It has also beaten Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya's Sky Force's collection of about Rs 168 crore.
Chhaava is seeing shows selling out days in advance, with major cities like Mumbai and Pune experiencing 90% occupancy.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the movie features actor Akshaye Khanna in the role of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Rashmika Mandanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Diana Penty are among the other marquee names featured in the film.
Released on Feb. 14, Chhaava received mixed reviews from critics but has been a hit with audiences.
"Chhaava' marked another collaboration for Kaushal and Utekar, who have previously worked on the romantic comedy 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke' (2023) opposite Sara Ali Khan."
'Chhaava' Declared Tax-Free In Goa And Madhya Pradesh
The Goa and Madhya Pradesh governments have announced that 'Chhaava', based on the life of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji, will be tax-free in the states.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant made the announcement on Wednesday evening in a post on X. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made the announcement while addressing a programme in Jabalpur.
