Vivo has unveiled its latest innovation, the Vivo Vision mixed reality (MR) headset at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025 in China. The device was showcased at the company’s booth during the event. While the prototype is expected to launch in mid-2025, the unveiling marks Vivo’s foray into the MR space.
According to Vivo, the Vision headset is part of its strategy to “strengthen its real-time spatial computing capabilities for future applications in consumer robotics.”

Vivo’s Mixed Reality Headset: Expected Design And Features
The Vivo Vision MR headset reportedly sports a ski goggle-style design with a black glass front and a blue headband. The design closely resembles Apple’s Vision Pro — which is priced at $3,499 (around Rs 3 lakh) — suggesting that Vivo is aiming for a premium look and feel.
The device also features a thick headband, seemingly designed to provide a secure fit. Images of the device indicate the presence of camera sensors both inside the front glass and within the body. These are expected to support motion tracking and hand gesture recognition. These would likely improve the augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experience.
The images also suggest that the Vivo Vision might feature a separate battery pack, much like the Apple Vision Pro. This battery could connect through a USB Type-C port and would likely need to be carried while using the headset.
The Boao Forum, often regarded as the Asian equivalent of the Davos Summit, serves as a platform for key discussions on technology, economic policies and innovation. This year’s edition also featured developments in 6G technology and a preview of Vivo’s upcoming X200 Ultra smartphone.
Speaking at a session titled ‘vivo Release Moment,’ Hu Baishan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Vivo, emphasised China’s mobile industry as a huge force in technological evolution. Hu said, the mobile phone industry is a “microcosm” of China’s tech innovation. He further highlighted Vivo’s position as the leading domestic smartphone brand for the past four years, serving over 500 million users across 60 global markets.
