Meta unveiled new features for businesses using WhatsApp at its annual conference in Brazil on Thursday. These updates are designed to help businesses connect with customers more effectively and streamline their operations, the company said.
AI Tools to Enhance Customer Assistance
Meta said the integration of advanced AI tools into WhatsApp would help businesses respond quickly to the most common questions they received, making it easier for customers to find the information required.
Additionally, businesses could also use AI to create ads for Facebook and Instagram, remind customers about items left in their carts, or offer discounts on desired products.

Meta Verified Comes To WhatsApp
Meta is rolling out the Meta Verified badge for businesses using the WhatsApp Business app in Brazil, India, Indonesia, and Colombia. This badge indicates that a business has registered its information with Meta, offering enhanced account support and protection against impersonation. Businesses with the Meta Verified badge can also use WhatsApp across multiple devices, making it easier for employees to manage customer interactions. The badge will be visible on the business’s WhatsApp Channel and custom WhatsApp page.

New Calling Feature For Larger Businesses
To provide a more direct line of communication, Meta is introducing a one-tap calling feature for larger businesses on WhatsApp. This feature is especially useful for handling complex requests, such as detailed travel plans or new bank account inquiries. Currently, in the testing phase, this feature will be expanded to more businesses in the coming months.
