(Bloomberg) -- Vice President Mike Pence said the administration is “fully cooperating” with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 elections.
Pence, speaking to reporters during an unannounced visit to Afghanistan, didn’t directly answer whether he would agree to be interviewed by Mueller’s team if asked.
“Let me just say we are fully cooperating with the special counsel and will continue to provide any and all assistance and information,” Pence responded.
Pence spoke as GOP critics and conservative media have stepped up their claims that the investigation is tainted with bias against President Donald Trump. Several House Republicans have called for Mueller to resign.
Trump’s lawyers have said that they expect Mueller will complete his investigation soon, but the special counsel hasn’t made any public comments about the probe.
