Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has been sentenced to three months imprisonment in a cheque bounce case on Tuesday, NDTV reported.
The Satya director was sentenced by the Andheri Magistrate Court in Mumbai on Tuesday. After hearing the case for seven years, the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him, according to a report by Telangana Today.
"With regard to the news about me and Andheri court, I want to clarify that it is to do with a seven year old case of Rs 2 lakh 38 thousand amount, relating to my ex-employee...My advocates are attending to it and since the matter is in court I cannot say anything further," the director said in a post on X.
