The Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train project will be fully integrated with Indian Railways, metro networks and bus services, making it an integrated infrastructure service, NDTV reported.
The Sabarmati Bullet Train Station, located in the eastern part of the city, will be connected to the Sabarmati Multimodal Transport Hub, further streamlining urban mobility and boosting commercial activities. This integrated transportation system will connect Ahmedabad to Mumbai and other major economic centres, according to the report.
The 26-kilometre-long bullet train route passing through Ahmedabad will connect busy commercial areas with Mumbai. The Ahmedabad Bullet Train Station is being constructed above platforms 10, 11, and 12 of the Western Railway and will be connected to the Kalupur Metro Station via lifts, stairs and escalators, it said.
The station's major structural work, including the concourse, rail, and platform slabs, is nearing completion, with finishing work ongoing. Meanwhile, the Sabarmati Terminal Station, located in the existing Sabarmati Railway Yard, will be fully integrated with Indian Railways, the multimodal transport hub, metro station and bus stop, it added.
The bullet train viaduct will cross 31 major crossings in Ahmedabad district, utilising advanced engineering techniques, such as the span-by-span method, full span launching method steel bridges to ensure efficient and rapid construction.
The National High-Speed Rail Corp. is leading the construction of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, with Larsen & Toubro managing a substantial part of the civil infrastructure and electrification work.
The National High-Speed Rail Corp. was established on Feb. 12, 2016, under the Companies Act. Its primary objective is to finance, construct, maintain and manage the high-speed rail corridor in India. NHSRCL operates as a special purpose vehicle with equity participation from the Union government, through the Ministry of Railways, and the state governments of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
