The top 10 most-valued firms lost a cumulative Rs 24,467.93 crore in market valuation on Monday, with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd. and ITC Ltd. emerging as the biggest losers.
TCS's market capitalisation fell Rs 24,422.09 crore to Rs 12.69 lakh crore, while that of RIL decreased Rs 11,705.5 crore to Rs 16.99 lakh crore. ITC's market cap decreased Rs 7,944.94 crore to Rs 5.16 lakh crore.
Hindustan Unilever Ltd. lost Rs 5,239.59 crore, taking its market cap to Rs 5.15 lakh crore. State Bank of India market cap fell Rs 6,336.48 crore to Rs 6.45 lakh crore.
Infosys Ltd. bucked the trend, adding Rs 29,709.49 crore in market cap to Rs 6.60 lakh crore. Bharti Airtel Ltd. followed suit, adding Rs 8,686.15 crore to Rs 9.38 lakh crore. Bajaj Finance Ltd. gained Rs 10,832.44 crore in market cap to Rs 5.27 lakh crore.
RIL retained its position as the most-valued firm, followed by HDFC Bank, TCS, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, SBI, Bajaj Finance, ITC and HUL.
India's benchmark equity indices ended higher on Monday, following a jump in global markets. The Nifty and Sensex snapped a two-day decline from the previous week. Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. and Bajaj Finserv Ltd. were the top gainers.
NSE Nifty 50 ended 111.55 points, or 0.5% higher at 22,508.75, while the BSE Sensex added 341 points or 0.46% to close at 74,169.95.
