The week starting April 21 will buzz with a flurry of domestic and international developments. The Q4 earnings season will enter its third week with top IT and FMCG companies scheduled to announce their performance.
US Vice President JD Vance will come to New Delhi with his family for his first official India visit as the two countries try to firm up a trade deal and avoid tariff-induced frictions.
Before we head straight into the calendar, here's a recap:
Markets This Week
The Nifty and Sensex had their best weekly performance in over four years on hopes the US will temper its hawkish tariff policy with trade partners offering to negotiate deals and a return of foreign capital.
Both the benchmark indices added 4.5% during the truncated week, the highest gain since February 2021. They also reversed a two-week losing streak.
The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex closed higher for the fourth session in a row on Thursday.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Infosys Ltd. and Wipro Ltd. disappointed the street with their weak guidance and quarterly results. The IT honchos have been under the tariff cloud which has delayed new orders and project ramp-ups.
Q4 Earnings Season Heat Up
The fourth quarter earnings season will gather momentum as big names announce their quarter and year end earnings.
HCLTech Ltd., Tata Communications Ltd., and Waaree Energies Ltd. will release their results on Tuesday, April 22.
Bajaj Housing Finance Ltd. and LTIMindtree Ltd. will follow on April 23 and then Axis Bank Ltd., Hindustan Unilever Ltd., L&T Technology Services Ltd., Tech Mahindra Ltd. and Nestle India Ltd. on April 24.
AU Small Finance Bank Ltd., Cyient DLM Ltd., Havells India Ltd., Shriram Finance Ltd., IDFC First Bank Ltd. and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. are some of the other notable companies scheduled to announce their Q4 results.
Dividends and guidance will also be closely monitored.
JD Vance Visits India
US Vice President JD Vance will visit India next week. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said it is "very positive" that the upcoming visit will give "further boost" to the India-US bilateral ties and "all relevant issues" will be on the table.
Vance will be accompanied by his wife, Usha, their three young children — Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel — and senior members of the US administration.
Soon after their arrival on Monday in New Delhi, Vance and his family are expected to visit the Red Fort, according to a PTI report.

Modi Heads To Saudi Arabia
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia starting Tuesday as both sides expand cooperation in an array of crucial areas, such as energy, defence and trade, besides expediting Riyadh's $100-billion investment plan for India.
Modi will hold wide-ranging talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to boost the overall bilateral ties and exchange views on pressing regional and global issues, including the overall situation in the Middle-East.
Several memoranda of understanding (MoUs), including one on green hydrogen, are expected to be signed by the two sides following the Modi-Salman talks, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said.
RBI MPC Minutes, PMI Data
The RBI on Wednesday, April 23, will release the minutes of the monetary policy committee meeting held earlier this month. The panel had decided to cut the repo rate by 25 bps, bringing it down to 6%, along with changing its stance from neutral to accommodative on April 9.
The minutes will reveal the thoughts and considerations that went into making the decision. The MPC members would have discussed trends on growth, inflation and the broader economic environment — key oberservations relevant to markets.
Besides, S&P Global will release the India PMI figures for manufacturing and services. The Purchasing Managers' Index is a survey-based economic indicator designed to provide a timely insight into business conditions.
Global Cues
S&P Global will share the findings of its PMI survey in the US, the UK, the Eurozone on Wednesday. Factory activity will be closely monitored amid global trade tensions.
Staying on trade, President Donald Trump's administration will likely host foreign leaders and delegations to work out bilateral trade deals. Trump lent a 90-day pause to his April 9 tariffs, saying he expects countries to negotiate on mutaully favourable terms.
Among notable nations, Japan this week sent its delegation to talk trade with the White House. Positive commentary gave global financial markets some relief.

Corporate Actions
Shares of CIE Automotive India Ltd., Muthoot Finance Ltd. and Sanofi India Ltd., will turn ex/record-date for the issue of dividends this week.
CIE Automotive will record its shareholders' roster on April 23 for its final dividend of Rs 7 for the financial year 2024-25.
Muthoot Finance's interim dividend and Sanofi India (final dividend of Rs 117) will record their shareholders on April 25.
The record/ex-date for Ami Organics Ltd.'s stock split of two shares for every one held will be April 25, Friday.
