Singham Returns Sets High Expectations at Box Office

The box office has high expectations from Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham Returns, which opened today across over 4,000 screens.

"Singham Returns has a historic start in the morning shows. Trade jubilant. Expecting a big, fat total on Day 1," said trade analyst Taran Adarsh in a tweet.

Singham Returns opened to 4,020 screens worldwide, 3,610 in India and 410 overseas, added Mr Adarsh.

Singham Returns is directed by Rohit Shetty, who has delivered hits like Golmaal series, Singham, Bol Bachchan and Chennai Express.

Singham Returns's box office collection will also be boosted by the long weekend. With Independence Day on Friday and Janmashtami on Monday, this weekend could mean a 4-day holiday for many.

Singham Returns's release also comes at a time when the Bollywood has had a good year so far in 2014.
