An initiative of Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. has delivered Rs 90 crore in cost savings per month through reduction in service and warranty expenses, headcount optimisation and network transformation.
The company has built a lot of automation in front-end processes, bringing in efficiency, including headcount reduction, Cell Business Head Vishal Chaturvedi told NDTV Profit on Wednesday.
The comments come on a day Ola Electric said it successfully finished implementation of its Network Transformation and Opex Reduction Programme. The company-wide initiative was launched in November with an aim to reduce cost and improve customer experience.
This initiative has delivered a sustainable cost reduction of Rs 90 crore per month, according to the company. The release confirms NDTV Profit's earlier story of a second round of layoffs at Ola Electric.
The company said some of the savings could be seen in this quarter as well. Chaturvedi also went on to say that most of its 4,000-odd stores are contributing to sales but network takes time to mature.
The company has been in the news with multiple disclosures spread across sales numbers, non-achievement of Advanced Battery Chemistry PLI as well as receiving Auto PLI incentive for FY24.
