The latest rally comes against a backdrop of already tight inventories. OECD July crude oil stocks stood at 2.76 billion barrels, up 9.8 million barrels from June but still 47.9 million barrels below the latest five-year average.
Pandey said the regulator is engaging with market participants, analysing discussions on social media and reviewing suggestions received from the market before taking a final view.
The Commission's next consultations are scheduled to be held in Chandigarh on September 16, 17 and 18. According to its official schedule, consultations will also be held in Bengaluru on October 7 and 8.
