After a two month blockbuster run in theatres, Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava is set to release on the streaming platform Netflix, on Friday, April 11. The movie has grossed over Rs 594 crores since its release on February 14. Whether it will enter the Rs 600 crore club before its Netflix release, remains to be seen.
"Aale Raje aale! Witness a tale of courage and glory etched in time. Watch Chhaava, out 11 April on Netflix," the platform confirmed in a post on X on Thursday.

It's not only set to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest hits of 2025, but is also being regarded as Kaushal's best work to date.
Besides Kaushal, the audience showered praises on Akshaye Khanna, who plays Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Chhavaa also features Rashmika Mandanna and Ashutosh Rana in key roles.

The film dominated audiences in states such as Maharashtra and Rajasthan, where Sambhaji Maharaj is deeply revered.
The film's magic remained unfazed even with Salman Khan's highly anticipated Sikandar's release on March 31. Unlike Chhaava, Sikandar failed to impress audiences.

Its success has revived hope for theatre owners, who have been struggling with changing consumer behaviour. Unfit scripts, OTT access, and affordability seem to have weakened theatres' appeal. Many theaters have turned to showing cricket matches such as the ongoing Indian Premier League, and concerts to draw in audiences.
Meanwhile, last month, unidentified persons were booked for illegal circulation of Chhaava on digital platforms through the creation of multiple links.
The case was filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Copyright Act, Cinematograph Act and Information Technology Act with South Region Cyber Police on the complaint of the chief executive officer of an anti-piracy agency.
