Ubisoft has officially announced the remake of its popular title, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, under the new name Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. The updated version brings back pirate assassin Edward Kenway's story with modern enhancements, new content and improved gameplay systems. The game is scheduled to launch on July 9, 2026, marking 13 years since the original release.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will release on July 9 across multiple platforms. These include PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. On PC, the game will be available via platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store. It will also be accessible through Ubisoft+ subscription and cloud streaming services like Nvidia GeForce Now and Blacknut.

Pricing, Editions

The standard edition of the game has been priced at $59.99 (Rs 5700). Ubisoft will also offer Deluxe and Collector's Editions, which are expected to include additional in-game content and physical collectibles. Further details about these editions have been shared alongside the official reveal materials.

The announcement was accompanied by multiple trailers, including a world premiere trailer featuring in-game cinematics and gameplay footage. A detailed gameplay overview trailer has also been released, outlining key features of the remake.

The reveal showcase was hosted by Matt Ryan, the original voice of Edward Kenway, who has returned to record new lines for the remake.

Gameplay, Improvements

The remake has been developed using the latest version of Ubisoft's Anvil Engine, incorporating upgrades seen in newer titles. According to the developer, the game is designed to deliver a more realistic experience while staying faithful to the original. Key improvements include ray tracing, enhanced water rendering, updated visuals and refined environmental details.

Gameplay systems have also been updated and introduce deeper combat and stealth mechanics. These include a revised parry-based combat system. Naval battles, a core part of the original game, have been reworked for improved realism and engagement. New quests and expanded customisation options have also been added.
