Oppo unveiled the A6s 5G on March 18, positioning battery and long-lasting performance as its main highlights. The Oppo A6s 5G boasts some powerful specifications for its price point. At a time when several phones in its category have sub-6,000mAh cells, the A6s 5G impresses with its 6,500mAh battery pack and solid endurance.
Oppo claims the battery provides up to 882.1 hours of standby time or 22.4 hours of video playback on a full charge. The charging is pretty decent too, with the 44W fast charger powering up the device from 1% to 41% in just 30 minutes.
Much like other budget to mid-range smartphones, the Oppo A6s 5G houses the eight-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, which has an AnTuTu score ranging from 420,000 to 590,000 points. Not surprisingly, the chipset provides good battery life, with NanoReview giving it an “87” out of 100 in the category — a standout for the processor.
The Oppo A6s 5G is decent on the AI front as well. It includes features like AI GameBoost for improved gaming smoothness and AI LinkBoost 3.0 to strengthen connectivity in low-signal areas. The device is available with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and runs ColorOS 15 based on Android.
For photography, the Oppo A6s 5G offers a dual rear camera system consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor, while the front houses a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.
The display is quite big at 6.75 inches, with the LCD panel getting a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1,125 nits. The device is rated IP64 for dust and water resistance.
At 8.6 mm thick and 212 gm, the Oppo A6s 5G can feel somewhat bulky and heavy, but that's typical for a mid-range phone packed with a fairly large battery and fewer premium refinements.
As for the pricing, the Oppo A6s 5G is priced at Rs 18,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version and Rs 20,999 for 6GB + 128GB in India, with some introductory discounts as well. If you can grab those, it's definitely a good buy for its price.
