Google launched its Pixel 11 smartphone lineup on Wednesday, placing greater emphasis on artificial intelligence capabilities through its Gemini assistant rather than major hardware redesigns, according to a report by TechCrunch. The series, unveiled at the company's "Made by Google" event, includes Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold, all powered by Google's new Tensor G6 processor.
The standout addition across the range is agentic AI functionality, allowing US-based users to order groceries,book rides, or arrange table reservation through Gemini,, which can now place phone calls to businesses on a user's behalf.
Google said users retain the ability to pause or take over these AI-driven tasks at any point and can review call transcripts afterward. A new "Magic Cue" feature also proactively surfaces suggestions, such as dinner spots, by scanning across a user's apps.
On the hardware front, The Verge reported that the base Pixel 11 features a camera bump over 40 percent thinner than its predecessor, alomgside 48MP wide, 13MP ultra-wide and 10.8MP telephoto lenses.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL introduce "HiLight," a customiseable LED indicator on a camera bar that signals incoming calls and Gemini activity, according to Mashable. The Pro XL, the largest model, houses a 6.8-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate and a 5,115mAh battery, the outlet noted.
Camera software upgrades include "Magic Capture," which extracts the sharpest frames from video recordings and customisable filter presets called "Camera Looks". The Pro model also gained a super-zoom upgrade, from100x to 120x, TechCrunch reported.
Pricing has increased across the board. The Pixel 11 now starts at $899, the Pixel 11 Pro at $1,099, and the Pro XL at $1,299 each roughly $100 higher than last year's equivalent storage tier, according to both TechCrunch and The Verge. The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,899, also up $100, claims triple the durability of its predecessor.
All models ship with a minimum of 256GB of storage. The base Pixel 11 will be available from August 20, alongside a new range of Pixelsnap accessories, the reports said.
