Sunrisers Hyderabad were off to a horrible start in 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) as they lost three of its first four matches. However, their season got a major boost as the they thrashed Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs on Monday. The match also helped them unearth two match-winning pacers who are likely to spearhead the team's bowling attack for the remainder of the season.
There is further good news for the 2016 champions, as regular skipper Pat Cummins is set to rejoin the squad soon. According to a Cricbuzz report, the Australian pacer is expected to return to Hyderabad on April 17, just in time for the team's next home fixture against Chennai Super Kings on April 18.
Cummins hasn't played for the team this season as he has been recovering from a troubled back which has kept him away from top-level cricket for a long time.
"I'm back bowling. I'm bowling basically every third day at the moment. We've mapped out a plan to get me right by the middle of the tournament. So hopefully, if nothing goes wrong, I'll play the back half, plus the final," Cummins was quoted as saying.

The 32-year-old was in India before the IPL got underway on March 28. However he flew back to Australia after their second game against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 2 to get scans done. Cricbuzz has reported that the Cummins will undergo fitness test in next 24 hours.
No clarity on Mitchell Starc's return
Like Cummins, Starc too has been missing in action from the IPL since the start of the season. The left-arm pacer is part of Delhi Capitals squad but has been forced to miss matches as he is undergoing rehab for a shoulder and elbow injury.
In an Instagram story Starc on March 28, Starc said that he was in constant touch with the team management and he hopes to be available for DC "asap".
Over 20 matches into the season, there is little clarity if Starc could been seen in action at all this year.
