After the winter break, the new F1 2026 season is just around the corner, with the first race in Melbourne due this weekend. Ahead of Sunday's race at Albert Park, the official F1 media has shared a video about drivers, in which Formula One legend Lewis Hamilton said visiting India is one of his dreams.
The seven-time Formula One World Champion also said he wants to go to the Himalayas and climb Mount Everest, the tallest peak in the world.
"Where I really want to go is... I wanna travel through India and then make my way up through the Himalayas. That's like my future dream for me, and then I'm gonna climb Mount Everest," he said in a video shared by the F1 official handle.
A legend in his own right, Hamilton is not shy about adventures, having visited Antarctica in 2023.
Meanwhile, the subcontinent has become an attractive destination for Formula One drivers, with Williams Racing's Alex Albon recently visiting Bhutan. Visa CashApp Racing Bulls' young driver Arvid Lindblad has also visited India recently, notably driving at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida.
Lewis Hamilton is set to drive for Scuderia Ferrari in the new season, in what will be his second season for the Prancing Horse. He will drive alongside Charles Leclerc, who has recently married his partner, Alexandra Saint-Mleux. Hamilton himself is reportedly dating the American socialite and model, Kim Kardashian.
This season promises to be a litmus test for Hamilton, whose F1 career could be on the line, having struggled in his first season at Ferrari and getting completely dominated by his teammate, Leclerc.
Although the Brit has a contract with Ferrari until 2027, the young phenom and Haas F1 driver Ollie Bearman is waiting in the wings, leading many to believe that a mishap resembling last season could ultimately spell the end of Hamilton's F1 career, potentially leading to his retirement.
