Mumbai Hoarding Collapse: Former Mumbai Air Traffic Control Manager, Wife Among Dead

Former general manager of Mumbai Air Traffic Control, Manoj Chansoria and his wife were among those who died in Mumbai's hoarding collapse incident on May 13.
Chansoria, who had retired in March, had come to Mumbai with his wife Anita for visa-related work, people familiar with the matter told NDTV.
While returning to Jabalpur on Monday after completing their work, they stopped at the Chheda Nagar petrol pump in Ghatkopar to refuel. It was then that a sudden dust storm struck, causing the massive hoarding to collapse, trapping them along with several others.
According to relatives who spoke to NDTV, their son, who resides in the United States, lodged a missing complaint in Mumbai through a friend, when he couldn't reach them over phone.
Police traced their final location to the petrol pump. Their bodies were extracted around midnight of the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
On May 13, Mumbai was swept by dust storm and unexpected rainfall. The illegal billboard, towering at a height of 100 feet, collapsed on the petrol pump in Ghatkopar during the storm.
Rescue work at the cite has been completed, NDTV reported. The death toll stands at 16. The Disaster Management Department of the BMC is taking charge of the coordination efforts, ensuring collaboration among all relevant authorities.
