Stock Market News Today Live Updates: Nifty Reclaims 24,000, Sensex Surges 1,300 Points; HDFC Bank, L&T Top Gainers

A broad set of stocks remained active in trade, with gains concentrated in financials, auto and select industrial names, while infrastructure and pharma stocks declined.

• TBO Tek rose 9.77%, the top gainer, followed by Alok Industries up 7.89% and L&T Finance gaining 6.29%.
• Shipping Corporation, Cholamandalam Finance and Ashok Leyland advanced between 5–6%.
• Five-Star Business Finance, Mangalore Refinery and Himachal Futuristic Communications also gained around 5%.
• JK Tyre, SBFC Finance, IOC and IFCI posted gains between 2% and 4%.

On the downside:

• Reliance Infrastructure fell 5%, the biggest decline among active stocks.
• GE T&D India, Data Patterns and Ajanta Pharma dropped between 2.7% and 3.3%.
• Aegis Logistics, Emcure Pharma and Aurobindo Pharma also traded lower.
• Zee Entertainment and Oil India saw marginal declines.

• Groww saw a block deal in the session with 2.13 million shares changing hands.

• Nifty rose as much as 1.64% to 24,011.35.
• Sensex gained as much as 1.7%, or 1,293.12 points, to 76,821.07.

The Indian rupee strengthened at the open, appreciating as much as 46.25 paise against the US dollar.

• Nifty 50 rose 1.53% to 23,984.85 in pre-market trade, gaining 361.95 points.
• Sensex advanced 1.59% to 76,725.27, up 1,197.32 points.

• UBS initiated coverage on Hindalco, NALCO and Coal India with Buy ratings, while starting Jindal Steel, Tata Steel and JSW Steel at Neutral.
• The brokerage initiated Sell ratings on SAIL and NMDC. It said aluminium has favourable macro conditions and operating leverage, while steel has limited upside to realisations or valuations.
• UBS said Coal India is a beneficiary of India’s energy demand, while NMDC faces headwinds from execution risks and flat iron ore pricing.

• James Dorsey of S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies told NDTV Profit that there is no agreement yet on how the nuclear issue will be resolved.
• He said the permanent status of the Strait of Hormuz and the durability of the US-Iran deal need to be watched, while the conflict is likely near its end.

• JP Morgan maintained a Neutral rating on LIC Housing Finance and raised its target price to Rs 590 from Rs 500.
• The brokerage said loan growth guidance of 10–12% appears ambitious, while third-party channel expansion, competitive pressure on yields, and higher technology and branding costs could weigh on profitability.

• Citi initiated coverage on LG Electronics India with a Buy rating and a target price of Rs 1,800.
• The brokerage cited the company’s market share in consumer durables, more than 85% localised manufacturing and parent-backed R&D. It expects 12% revenue CAGR and 23% PAT CAGR during FY26–29.

• Geoffrey Dennis of Independent Emerging Markets told NDTV Profit that oil is falling as an Iran deal appears to be in sight.
• He said the deal would be positive for equities, bonds and emerging markets, and could allow the tech trade to resume as uncertainty eases.
• Dennis said oil prices may not stay at current levels, while the trend in crude could weigh on the dollar.

• Jefferies maintained a Buy rating on IndiGo with a target price of Rs 5,380.
• The brokerage said management remains focused on pricing over capacity amid cost inflation. It cited aviation demand, cost controls, fleet expansion, forex hedging and international routes as growth drivers.

• UBS maintained a Neutral rating on Nestlé SA with a target price of CHF 80. The brokerage noted that FSSAI issued a notice over alleged larvae detection in a Maggi packet.
• Nomura maintained a Buy rating on Nestlé India with a target price of Rs 1,500. It said the company has stated that the complaint came from an unverified X account, lab tests found no infestation in the batch, and quality records were submitted to FSSAI.

• Macquarie initiated coverage on GMR Airports with an Outperform rating and a target price of Rs 125, citing travel-linked consumption, retail and duty-free spending, and land development opportunities.
• Jefferies maintained a Buy rating with a target price of Rs 125, saying aero, non-aero and real estate businesses support growth. It also cited easing capex, positive free cash flow and lower leverage.

• UBS initiated coverage on Lenskart with a Buy rating and a target price of Rs 730.
• The brokerage said Lenskart offers products at nearly half the price of peers and has emerged as a leader in the segment. It expects the company’s earnings per share to grow at a CAGR of 44% over FY26-31.

• Nifty June futures rose 2.22% to 23,714.80, trading at a premium of 91.9 points.
• In options, the maximum Call open interest was at 24,000, while the maximum Put open interest stood at 22,500.
• Kaynes is in the F&O ban period.

• Vadilal Industries has been shortlisted under the short-term ASM framework.
• Hindustan Copper and Embassy Developments will be excluded from the ASM framework.

\GIFT Nifty traded at 24,020, compared with Friday’s Nifty 50 close of 23,622.90.

• DCM’s price band has been revised to 5% from 20%, according to the trading tweak update.

• Fairbridge Capital Mauritius, promoter of Thomas Cook India, acquired 44.27 lakh shares. NRB Bearings promoter Harshbeena Zaveri pledged 1.96 crore shares.
• The President of India, represented by the Ministry of Coal, disposed of 3.77 crore shares in NLC India. NCC promoter Sirisha Projects pledged 55 lakh shares.
• GRM Overseas promoters Mamta Garg and Atul Garg acquired shares, while Eveready Industries India promoter Gyan Enterprises and Alembic Pharmaceuticals promoter group entity Nirayu also bought shares.

• R G Family Trust sold 15 lakh shares of GRM Overseas at Rs 93.39 apiece, while Ravi Goyal HUF bought 15 lakh shares at Rs 93.40 each.
• Altizen Ventures sold 7.50 lakh shares of Vintage Coffee and Beverages at Rs 163.17 apiece.

• Sun Pharmaceutical Industries said Independent Director Gautam Doshi has been arrested by enforcement authorities, adding that the matter is personal and unrelated to company operations.
• Ceinsys Tech said its US subsidiary received purchase orders worth Rs 30 crore from T Second Inc. for technology and data localisation services.
• Nesco said the Mumbai High Court granted bail to its Vice President in an ongoing legal matter, and the company expects no material impact on operations.

• Oswal Pumps received three letters of award from NBPDCL and SBPDCL for solar projects in Bihar, according to an exchange filing.
• The orders include aggregate installation work worth Rs 247 crore and additional revenue potential of Rs 257 crore.

• \NSE is expected to file papers for its India IPO this week, Mint reported.
• The IPO will be entirely an offer for sale. SBI and GIC are among shareholders planning to sell about 10% stake, while LIC may not sell its holding, according to the report.

• US President Donald Trump told The New York Times that the agreement with Iran would keep the Strait of Hormuz “permanently toll free”.
• Trump said the US could restart military action against Tehran if Iran fails to reach a final nuclear accord. He said follow-up talks are expected to begin on Friday in Switzerland.

• UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Britain is ready to support technical talks between the US and Iran after the two sides agreed to halt hostilities.
• Starmer said the memorandum of understanding must be implemented to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and restore toll-free freedom of navigation through the waterway.

• US President Donald Trump said the agreement with Iran will bring peace and security to the region and allow the Strait of Hormuz to reopen after the deal is signed on Friday.
• He said oil flows would resume through the route after mine-removal work linked to the opening of the Strait.

• Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Gharibabadi said the memorandum of understanding will be published after its official signing, according to Press TV.
• He said the signing is scheduled for Friday, with future talks depending on verification of US commitments on ending the war, lifting the blockade and releasing assets.

• Japan’s Nikkei rose 4.68% to 69,108.03, while South Korea’s Kospi gained 5.64% to 8,581.47.
• Australia’s ASX 200 advanced 1.44%, Singapore’s STI climbed 0.76% and New Zealand’s NZX 50 added 0.28%.

WTI crude futures for July delivery fell 4.77% to $80.83 a barrel, while Brent crude futures for August delivery declined about 4% to $83.77 a barrel.

Prices extended their decline after US President Donald Trump said Washington had completed an agreement with Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global crude shipments.
