Shares worth around $19 billion across 80 recently listed companies are set to become eligible for trading as pre-listing shareholder lock-ins expire between Aug. 24 and Dec. 29, 2026, according to Nuvama Alternative & Quantitative Research.

The unlocks could increase the potential supply of shares in several recently listed stocks. However, Nuvama cautioned that the entire value should not be treated as potential selling supply, as a sizeable portion of the shares is held by promoters and promoter groups. The analysis covers companies listed up to Aug. 21, 2026.

Why Lock-In Expiry Matters

A lock-in expiry allows previously restricted shareholders to sell their shares, potentially increasing the free float and supply available in the market.

However, the expiry itself does not mean that all unlocked shares will be sold. Nuvama's analysis includes both promoter and non-promoter shareholders, and a sizeable portion of the unlocked shares is held by promoters and promoter groups.
