Saumya Tandon Opens Up On Missing Akshaye Khanna In Dhurandhar 2

Aditya Dhar's blockbuster, Dhurandhar The Revenge, has been the talk of the town since its release on March 19. Akshaye Khanna and Saumya Tandon's on-screen chemistry in Dhurandhar became an unexpected highlight. Recently, Saumya Tandon opened up about missing her 'on-screen' husband in the second part of the movie.

Tandon plays the role of Ulfath Rehman, the wife of Rahman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna). Talking to Variety India, she opened up about the intensity of her role. She said, "I actually do not have much to do in 'Dhurandhar 2.'

She also mentioned her viral scene and what went behind it, "There is a scene of mine that has gone viral, but I wouldn't like to speak about it because I think I'd like them to see the movie first. I would say that it's a very intense scene, and it is basically at Rehman Dakait's Maiyaat (funeral). It's a very complicated scene because she's again very angry, and also she's kind of in a situation where she's questioning. And she's desperate."

She also added to express how Dhurandhar required acting with your eyes. She said, "I would just say that in this particular project, 'Dhurandhar,' there were very many scenes where everything had to be expressed with your eyes." She also claimed that this was the 'most challenging' part of Dhurandhar movies, as she had to emotionally connect to the character to show the intense emotions as the wife of Rehman Dakait.

Talking about Akshaye Khanna's absence in the second part of Dhurandhar, Saumya Tandon said, "Of course, as a viewer, I missed him a lot. He was so good in the first film. But then this is a story, and it progresses after his death."

Previously, as reported by Variety India, the actress had also spoken about their off-screen bond. She said that while both she and Akshaye are introverted in nature, they bonded over their love for books.

After opening historically on March 19, Dhurandhar 2 is now on a quest to break several other records. The movie collected two consecutive Rs 100 crore + on its opening weekend. As per reports, it is for the first time ever for a Hindi movie to get two consecutive Rs 100 crores. Including the overseas collection, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has locked in a staggering Rs 691.32 crore within 5 days of its release.
