Vishal Bhardwaj's O'Romeo continues its steady but slowing run at the box office, with the film inching closer to the Rs 50 crore mark. As per early estimates from Sacnilk, the action drama collected around Rs 0.95 crore on Day 8, taking its total India net to approximately Rs 48.05 crore. The film now heads into its second weekend with the crucial milestone still within reach but not yet secured.
After a promising opening, the Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri starrer witnessed the expected weekday drop. It began its journey with Rs 8.5 crore on Day 1, followed by a strong jump to Rs 12.65 crore on Saturday and Rs 9 crore on Sunday. However, the numbers dipped sharply on Monday with Rs 4.85 crore. Tuesday saw a slight recovery at Rs 5.35 crore, but the collections slipped again on Wednesday and Thursday with Rs 3.65 crore and Rs 3.1 crore respectively, indicating a gradual loss of momentum through the week.

On its eighth day, the film registered an overall 7.24% Hindi occupancy. The afternoon shows performed better than the morning slots, but the overall footfall remained moderate in key markets. Chennai recorded the highest occupancy at 12%, albeit with limited screenings, while Pune and Jaipur followed at 9.5% each. Mumbai and Chandigarh stood at 8.5%, and NCR reported around 7.5%, reflecting a steady but not substantial turnout in the major multiplex circuits.
While the domestic run has slowed, the film had earlier shown relatively better traction in the international markets, keeping its global performance on a stronger footing. For now, however, the focus remains on the India net total and whether the film can cross the Rs 50 crore mark over the weekend.
Backed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O'Romeo boasts a multi-starrer supporting cast including Nana Patekar, Vikrant Massey, Disha Patani, Tamannaah and Avinash Tiwary. The film has been appreciated for its performances and Bhardwaj's direction, though its screenplay and pacing have been seen as limiting its wider appeal.
Adding to its challenge, the film faces fresh competition from today with the release of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur's Do Deewane Seher Mein, which could divide the urban multiplex audience. With the second weekend underway, O'Romeo will need a noticeable jump in collections to hold its ground and move past the Rs 50 crore mark.
