Nearly three years after the first season became popular among crime-thriller fans, Inspector Avinash Season 2 is now gearing up for a darker, more emotional and politically intense chapter.
Inspired by real incidents from Uttar Pradesh during the late 1990s, the series dives once again into the dangerous world of crime syndicates, illegal weapons and corruption.
Quick Recap Of Season 1
The first season (2023) followed Avinash Mishra, a sharp and fearless police officer leading operations against illegal arms dealers and criminal gangs during one of the most violent periods in North India.
As mafia activities increased across Uttar Pradesh, Avinash was assigned to crack down on organised crime and restore order. The season featured several encounters, undercover operations and violent gang rivalries while also showing the pressure the job placed on his personal life.
Season 1 ended with Avinash successfully taking down major criminal networks, but it also hinted that bigger political and criminal forces were still operating behind the scenes.
What To Expect In Season 2?
The second season takes the story in a more personal direction.
This time, Avinash's son gets linked to a murder case, pushing the officer into his toughest battle yet. Soon, he is betrayed by the very system he once served. Suspended from duty and trapped inside a political conspiracy, Avinash must now fight criminals, corrupt officials and powerful enemies at the same time.
As crime syndicates take advantage of the chaos, the officer struggles to protect his family while trying to prove his innocence.
Cast And Character
Randeep Hooda returns as encounter specialist Avinash Mishra in Inspector Avinash Season 2, which has been written and directed by Neeraj Pathak.
The show also stars Urvashi Rautela, Amit Sial, Abhimanyu Singh, Rajneesh Duggal, Shalin Bhanot and Freddy Daruwala in key roles.
Several returning characters from Season 1 are also expected to play major parts in the new conspiracy-driven storyline.
When And Where To Watch?
Inspector Avinash Season 2 will stream on JioHotstar from May 15, 2026. The time has not been officially revealed.
The platform recently shared the trailer with the caption: "Iss baar khel bada, dushman khatarnaak, par Inspector Avinash karega sabka the end," teasing bigger action and more dangerous enemies this season.
While the first season had eight episodes, the total episode count for Season 2 has not been officially revealed yet.
Final Take On Season 2
If the first season focused on Avinash's fight against crime syndicates, the new chapter looks ready to explore the personal cost of being a cop in a corrupt system — where loyalty, justice and family are constantly tested.
