Saif Ali Khan is all set to return to the crime-thriller space with Kartavya that promises a dark and emotionally intense story about duty, guilt and family.
The announcement was earlier made by Shah Rukh Khan, who shared the film's poster on social media. Along with the first look featuring Saif in a bruised and rugged police avatar, SRK wrote, "Kartavya ke iss chakravyuh mein, har faisla ek imtihaan hoga," hinting at the difficult choices the story revolves around.
Story Focuses On Duty Vs Family
Directed and written by Pulkit, the film follows Pawan Malik, a police officer played by Saif Ali Khan, whose life spirals into chaos after a journalist is shot while under his protection.
As investigations intensify, Pawan finds himself trapped between pressure from senior officials, rising political influence and threats targeting his own family. The story explores how far a man can go to protect both his duty and the people closest to him.
The trailer, released recently by Netflix, presents a tense world filled with corruption, emotional conflict and moral ambiguity. Alongside the crime investigation, the film also explores the emotional cost of responsibility and justice.
