Netflix has reignited global excitement for the Money Heist fans with a latest announcement that the universe is expanding. This news comes just days before the premiere of Berlin Season 2 on May 15. While fans eagerly await clarity on a potential return of the original crew, the streaming giant has confirmed that the franchise is far from over.
Money Heist Universe - Netflix Announcement
The original series Money Heist concluded in 2021 after five seasons with a widely praised finale. However, a recent teaser has sparked fresh global speculation about new projects, including the possibility of a direct Season 6.
Sharing the announcement on social media, the video featured people in red jumpsuits and the famous Salvador Dalí masks. It showed clips of the Royal Mint and Bank of Spain heists, while offering a glimpse of new adventures to come.
As the trailer progressed, a text appeared on screen, declaring: "It began with money, then came gold and priceless treasure. But the revolution isn't over yet. What comes next has already begun. The world of Money Heist continues."

However, one part from the released teaser caught the attention of fans. The teaser featured a brief shot of a gold bar being dug out, leading many fans to speculate that the new storyline could pick up directly from the gold heist plotline, which may be introduced in the series.
The posted teaser was captioned, "El Bella Ciao SIGUE sonando. El universo de 'La casa de papel' continúa." ("The Bella Ciao is STILL playing. The 'House of Paper' universe continues.”). It was followed by, "O Bella Ciao CONTINUA a soar. O universo de 'La casa de papel' continua" ("Bella Ciao continues to echo. The universe of ‘Money Heist' continues").
Netflix Promotional Event
The announcement was not limited to social media platforms. Instead, Netflix staged a grand promotional event in Seville, Spain, on May 9, showing that the Money Heist franchise will continue ahead of the upcoming release, Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine (Berlín y la dama del armiño).
The promotional event, inspired by the series, drew thousands of fans to the banks of the Guadalquivir River. A boat carrying people dressed in the signature red jumpsuits and Dalí masks sailed past while the iconic anthem 'Bella Ciao' played loudly for the crowd. The event quickly went viral on social media and showed once again why Money Heist remains a popular series, years after its final series.
An official announcement awaits whether the upcoming project will be a new spin-off, a continuation of the original story, or Season 6 of Money Heist featuring the original cast.
