In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for fuel conservation amid growing global uncertainty, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday proposed two days of work from home for government offices and a minimum use of automobiles.
This strategy, which was unveiled by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, comes in the backdrop of an appeal by Modi to cut fuel usage and alleviate economic strains resulting from the continuing crisis in West Asia is precisely aligned with the measures.
The decisions will take effect from Friday.

Additionally, the chief minister has cut her official carcade down to only four vehicles, an almost 60% reduction.
Only four cars remain in the redesigned convoy structure, two of which are electric vehicles (EVs). This is a significant change in the direction of more sustainable and clean mobility for official travel.
As per new rules, every government department in Delhi has to switch to a remote format for two days every week. To reduce the usage of transit fuel, at least half of all important government meetings must now be conducted virtually. Fuel allowances for official vehicles have been cut by 20%, and new government vehicle purchases have been put on hold for six months.

The administration declared that every Monday would be "Monday Metro" and that all ministers, officers, and staff would take the metro. Additionally, the public has been urged by the government to observe one "No Vehicle Day" each week.
It stated that for the next six months, no new petrol, diesel, or electric vehicles will be purchased.
According to the government, employees would receive a 10% boost in their transportation allowance.
Additionally, travel abroad is prohibited. For the next year, no Delhi government officer or minister would travel abroad on official business, it stated.
There will also be a 90-day awareness-raising effort.
According to the administration, citizens would be encouraged to save and aid in the development of the country.
All government workplaces will have air conditioners set between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius in order to cut electricity use.
To avoid needless electricity waste, master switches will be put in government buildings.
Speaking at a public gathering hosted by the BJP on Sunday at Secunderabad's Parade Grounds, Modi had asked people to work together to shield the Indian economy from the consequences of the ongoing violence in West Asia.
