The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has rolled out the comprehensive timetable for the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Main Examination 2026. This major announcement has been made for applicants gearing up for government roles in Uttar Pradesh.

All pertinent dates and timings can now be accessed on the Commission's official website. Additionally, the Commission has adjusted the length of specific exam papers noted in the prior notification.

The PCS Main Examination for the year 2026 is set to take place in two prominent cities which include Prayagraj and Lucknow. The Commission has made it clear that the exam will be conducted concurrently in both locations to guarantee equal comfort for all participants. The examination will commence on March 29 and will wrap up on April 1.

Each day will feature two segments One Morning session starting from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the second Afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Exam format and syllabus

March 29: General Hindi and Essay

On the initial day, two significant papers will be administered. The General Hindi paper is scheduled for the morning session, while the Essay paper will be held during the afternoon. As stated by the Commission, both papers play a vital role in evaluating candidates' language proficiency and expression skills.

March 30: General Studies Papers I and II

On March 30, two General Studies papers will be administered. General Studies Paper I is slated for the morning session, and General Studies Paper II will occur in the afternoon. These papers will comprise questions covering areas such as history, geography, polity, economy, and society.

March 31: General Studies Papers III and IV

Candidates will partake in two additional papers on March 31. General Studies Paper III will be held in the morning, followed by General Studies Paper IV in the afternoon. These evaluations aim to assess analytical skills and administrative comprehension.

April 1: Final Two Papers

The PCS Main Examination will conclude on April 1. General Studies Paper V is to be conducted in the morning session, while General Studies Paper VI will follow in the afternoon. Thus, the PCS Main Examination 2026 will officially conclude.
