Amid the war in West Asia, low-cost carrier SpiceJet has announced to operate seven special flights from Fujairah to India from March 15-16, according to a statement by the airline.
The development comes after the UAE Civil Aviation authorities issued insructions to airlines, allowing limited flight operations from certain parts of UAE to India.
On March 15, SpiceJet will operate two flights from Fujairah to Delhi, one to Mumbai, and a special flight from Dubai to Pune. Meanwhile, four special flights are scheduled from Fujairah and an additional flight from Dubai to India is expected to operate on March 16.

Flight Operations in UAE
According to a notice by the Indian Embassy, Abu Dhabi, airlines have been issued revised flight schedules, on the basis of directives by the UAE Civil Aviation Authorities. Hence, limited flights will operate between airports in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), Sharjah and Fujairah to different parts of India. "Further details may be checked with the respective airlines," the notice read.
This comes after flights experienced significant disruptions at Dubai International Airport (DXB), Maktoum International Airport (DWC), and other major routes due to the Middle East conflict, causing cancellations and delays.Tata-owned Air India and Air India Express cancelled several flights scheduled to operate between Middle East and India on Sunday due to instructions by airport authorities in the UAE.
"These flights will be operated subject to slot availability and condition prevailing during the time of operation. Guests on cancelled or temporarily suspended services may rebook to a future date at no additional charge or opt for a full refund," the airline said.
Additionally, IndiGo cancelled flights to and from the Middle East region amid the ongoing tensions between the US, Israel and Iran, resulting in airspace restrictions.
"As the situation across parts of the Middle East continues to evolve, IndiGo remains in close coordination with the relevant authorities to progressively rebuild its flight network across the region, along with select routes to Europe," the airline.
