Indian crude vessels to arrive soon.

In a notable development for India's crude supply, tanker Shivalik which is carrying LPG, has been docked at the Mundra port on Monday at around 5 p.m. IST.

Another tanker called 'Jag Laadki' will arrive on Tuesday, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Special Secretary for Shipping said in a press briefing.

'Jag Laadki' is carrying 80,000 Metric Tonnes (MTs) of crude oil, Sinha added. The shipping secretary highlighted that there are currently 22 Indian vessels with 616 Indian seafarers in the West of the Persian Gulf, and all of them are safe.

Sinha also informed that review meetings with all ports were held and no congestion was reported at any of the major ports.

The safe arrival of these crude vessels is pertitent as the world grapples with one of the biggest oil disurptions caused by the on-going Iran conflict. The diruption has led to concerns regarding an LPG shortage in nation-wide.

"The war in the Middle East is creating the largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market," International Energy Agency underlined in its monthly report on last week.

The report further highlighted that with Middle East on the boil, global oil supply will decrease by 8 million barrels per day in march.

Moreover, the IEA has slashed its estimates for global consumption growth this year by roughly 25% to 6,40,000 barrels per day from 8,50,000 barrels per day; the lowest since it introduced forecasts for this year last April.

The Indian government has been urging everyone to not panic book lpg cylinders ever since concerns about a crunch arose.

Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing & Oil Refinery), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas once again reiterated the same message in the inter-ministerial presser and said, "Will appeal to the general public to do online bookings for domestic LPG cylinders. No need to go to distributors. Trust OMCs, don't do panic booking."
