Mohd Kaif Khan secured All-India Rank 35 in the January 2026 Chartered Accountancy Intermediate examination, with a total of 436 marks and distinction in both groups. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India published the results.
He cleared the exam while managing a job, recovering from a medical condition and dealing with personal loss.
Overcoming Setbacks
Khan prepared for the exam while working and had nearly 50 pending lectures. He resigned from his job in June 2025 to focus on studies and spent two months completing his backlog and revising the syllabus.
Weeks before the exam, he was diagnosed with diplopia and underwent eye surgery on October 1. He was advised 10 to 15 days of rest, which disrupted his preparation.
“During my CA Intermediate preparation, I was managing a job along with my studies and had accumulated a backlog of lectures, which made things even more difficult. Just as I was trying to get back on track, I was diagnosed with diplopia and had to undergo eye surgery on October 1, followed by 10-15 days of complete rest. That period was extremely challenging, and I did feel worried. I had also lost my notes, which further affected my motivation. However, as I began to recover, I decided not to give up,” Khan said.

Family Responsibility
Khan said personal loss shaped his decision to pursue the course. He moved to Bhiwandi after his father's illness and later took on family responsibilities.
“Things became very difficult after I lost my father. That was when I decided to prepare for the Chartered Accountancy examinations and moved to Bhiwandi. Being the elder of two brothers among six siblings, I knew that no matter how tough things got, I had to keep pushing myself for them and for my mother. Giving up was never an option for me. It was then that I committed to pursuing CA and began preparing for the exams alongside my job and regular studies,” he said.
Course Support
Khan enrolled with CA Wallah for his preparation after completing his foundation studies with the same institute. He said structured guidance helped him resume preparation after his recovery.
“Since I had already studied with CA Wallah for the CA Foundation, I enrolled in their Intermediate course as well. With a well-structured course plan and consistent guidance from CA Wallah, I was able to gradually rebuild my confidence and resume my preparation. I am immensely grateful for the support I received. Had it not been for the constant encouragement of my faculty and their belief in me, I would not have been able to clear the exam,” he said.
