Parallel's autonomous AI agents can be used by firms to undertake research for investment, risk underwriting, insurance claims processing and sifting through government contracts and other "deep research" tasks. These tasks would be accomplished by an AI agent quicker, and more accurately, as compared to a human with a web browser.

The recent interest and traction in the startup can be credited to the demand for more 'long-horizon' AI agents, according to Andrew Reed, the company's board member as well as a Sequoia Capital partner. 'Long horizon' AI agents can remember contexts and run tasks for long periods at a time and do so in the background, all while responding to user requests at a faster rate.

Companies like AI legal startup Harvey use Parallel Web Systems' services to implement more precise control over which websites its AI agents access. Harvey uses this to fine tune the legal research it undertakes for its clients.

Parallel Web Systems currently has up to 100,000 developers using its infrastructure, which includes enterprises and AI startups.
