iOS 18.4 With Apple Intelligence Rolls Out In India — Check AI Features, Compatible Devices, More

Apple has released the most recent iOS 18.4 update for iPhone users, finally delivering Apple Intelligence features in India after months of anticipation. Users can now utilise Writing Tools to edit, proofread, and summarise text, Smart Reply to reply with a tap, or Clean Up for eliminating distracting elements from photos.

The iOS 18.4 update adds visual intelligence, which enables users to quickly learn more about the places and objects around them. The most recent iOS release also integrates ChatGPT with Writing Tools and Siri.

Photos: The Clean Up tool in the Photos app eliminates distracting elements from images by tapping on them. Through Image Playground, users can create imaginative photos using themes, costumes, accessories, and places.

Genmoji: Genmoji adds funs to conversations by allowing users to make custom emojis. This can be done by typing a description, and the Genmoji can be shared in Messages as a sticker or reply in Tapback.

ChatGPT Integration: You can use ChatGPT’s features more quickly and without hopping between apps thanks to its integration with Writing Tools and Siri. 

Siri: Siri is smarter with richer language understanding and typing options (before, it was only voice commands). 

Visual Intelligence: The feature allows users to learn about surrounding objects and places, summarise and translate text, and more.

According to the company, Apple Intelligence features are now available in localised English for Indian users, along with localised version in Singapore. The features will also be available in other new languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified).

The iOS 18.4 update is available for the following devices:

• iPhone 16 models.

• iPhone 15 models.

• iPhone 14 models.

• iPhone 13 models.

• iPhone 12 models.

• iPhone 11 models.

• iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, and iPhone SE (second and third generation).

However, only the following iPhones will have access to Apple Intelligence capabilities:

• iPhone 15 Pro.

• iPhone 15 Pro Max.

• All iPhone 16 models.

To download iOS 18.4: 

• Go to Settings > General > Software Update

• Turn on iOS Updates below Automatically Install and Automatically Download.

• iPhone will download and install the update while charging and connected to Wi-Fi. You will be notified before an update is installed.

• To turn off automatic updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates.
