GTA 6 Trailer 2 Garners 475 Million Views As Rockstar Reveals New Story, Characters

The much awaited second trailer of GTA 6 by Rockstar Games has fetched over 475 million views on the internet, including nearly 105 million views on YouTube. The second trailer, launched on May 6, is currently trending at the 32nd spot on the video sharing platform.

This comes more than a year after Rockstar Games released the first trailer of the game in December 2023, which has received over 258 million views on YouTube. Fans are hooked to the second trailer, which they hope will keep them in “survival” mode till the actual game comes out on May 26, 2026.

While the first trailer gave a teaser into the protagonists of the game, the second trailer dives deeper into the storyline of Jason and Lucia, who are set in a Florida-inspired map. The last game, GTA 5, came out in 2013. Over a decade later, fans are now eagerly anticipating an exceptional performance and gaming experience from GTA 6.

The trailer explores the lives of Jason and Lucia, who share a romantic relationship while navigating a world of crime. The description of the trailer reads: “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. However, when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida and are forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.” This confirms that the gameplay will be based in the fictional US state of Leonida.

“At this point, GTA VI is not a game. It’s an emotional experience,” one of the YouTube comments reads.

In a blog post, Rockstar Games has also shared glimpses into the background of the confirmed characters. Here’s their story:

Jason Duval: Raised among crooks, the character joined the Army to escape his past. He now works for local drug runners, but it's time for something new.

Lucia Caminos: A fighter since an early age, life has been tough for Lucia, eventually leading her to prison. But she gets out by chance and is determined not to mess up again. 

Other known characters are Jason’s friend Cal Hampton and local legend Boobie Ike. Another character, Dre'Quan Priest, hustled the streets to survive, but music was always his dream.

Real Dimez is another character in the game who turned her high school hustle into success. Now she creates rap tracks and dominates social media.

Rockstar Games also introduces the gamers to Raul Bautista, a seasoned bank robber. The game will also feature Brian Heder, a classic drug runner.
