FIFA confirmed on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia would host the 2034 Men's Football World Cup.
The 2030 edition will be jointly hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco,, with centenary celebration matches being played in three South American countries.
The announcement was made without any competing bids and received unanimous approval from over 200 FIFA member federations during a virtual meeting led by FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Zurich.
Saudi Arabia’s sole bid for the 2034 World Cup highlights strong backing from the FIFA Congress, with Infantino orchestrating a symbolic show of support from officials.
At the same time, the hosting rights for the 2030 World Cup were granted to a joint bid from Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, which will also include Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
