Nifty Top Gainers And Losers On May 9: Titan, Tata Motors, L&T To ICICI Bank, PowerGrid

Titan Company Ltd., Tata Motors Ltd., and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. emerged as the top gainers for the day. On the other hand, ICICI Bank Ltd., PowerGrid Corp., and UltraTech Cement Ltd. were among the top laggards of the Nifty 50.

The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex erased all gains from the previous week. During the volatile session, the Nifty 50 declined 1.39% to the day's low of 23,935.7, and the Sensex fell 1.70% to the day's low of 78,968.34.

The benchmarks proceeded to pare the day's lows, with the NSE Nifty 50 ending 265.80 points, or 1.10% lower, at 24,008 and the BSE Sensex closing 880.34 points, or 1.10% down, at 79,454.47.

Titan was among the top performers among the Nifty 50 and closed 4.18% higher at Rs 3,510.30. Shares of Tata Motors gained 3.76% to Rs 708.50 at market close. Larsen & Toubro and Bharat Electronics Ltd. were also among the top gainers. Hero MotoCorp also rose over 1.41% to close at Rs 3,853.90.

ICICI Bank declined on Wednesday, with the stock closing 3.25% lower. PowerGrid Corp shares declined nearly 2.90% on Friday to close at Rs 299.30. Shares of Grasim Industries closed 2.37% down at Rs 2,634.80. Shriram Finance stock ended 2.33% lower at Rs 601.45 per share. UltraTech Cement was also among the worst performers for the day.
