The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Charulatha S Kar and Arnab Kumar Chowdhury as executive directors on Monday. While Kar will take over on July 1, Chowdhury will do so on July 3.
Kar will look after Department of Communication, Human Resource Management Department and Right to Information (First Appellate Authority) of the central bank.
Chowdhury's responsibilities will comprise Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation, Foreign Exchange Department and International Department.
Charulatha S Kar
Kar previously served as chief general manager in-charge in the HR Management Department.
She has worked in the RBI having worked in areas of Payment and Settlement Systems, Information Technology, Government Banking, Internal accounts and Human Resource Management. She has also represented the central bank in several working groups of BIS and has served as a member of other internal and external committees.
Arnab Kumar Chowdhury
Chowdhury has experience of over three decades in Reserve Bank of India. He has worked extensively in the area of supervision of financial entities. He has worked in the area of corporate strategy, budgeting, accounting and Issue Department. He has also served as member of several committees and working groups and has been contributing to policy formulation.
