Salman Khan-starrer Kick looks set to shatter more box office records after becoming the actor's highest domestic grosser ever. Kick has collected around $9 million from overseas markets, just shy of Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger's total overseas collection of $10.5 million, according to boxofficeindia.com.
Kick has done good business in overseas markets like UK, US/Canada and UAE. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh in a tweet had pegged Kick's overseas collection till date at $9.6 million (Rs 58.35 crore). He expects the Kick's overseas tally to significantly go up with many screens yet to report.
Kick, with a domestic collection of Rs 203.19 crore till Monday, has already surpassed 3 Idiots in box-office collection, says Mr Adarsh.
Kick is already the biggest grosser so far this year. The other Rs 100 crore grossers of 2014 so far have been Jai Ho, 2 States, Holiday and Ek Villain, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said.
Kick's success makes Salman Khan the first Bollywood actor to have seven Rs 100 crore movies to his credit, according to Mr Adarsh: Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Bodyguard, Dabangg, Ready, and Jai Ho.
Released on July 25, Kick also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, among others. Kick was released over 5,000 screens in India and as well as 42 other countries.
Kick also marks the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala. Kick is a remake of the hit 2009 Telegu film of the same name and the screenplay for the Hindi version was adapted by Chetan Bhagat and Sajid Nadiadwala, who's also the director-producer of the movie. The film has been released under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner. (With Agency Inputs)
