Markets Recover From Intraday Lows; Auto Stocks Rebound

The BSE benchmark Sensex recovered from the intraday low levels on the back of buying in metal, power and capital goods stocks.

The 50-share Nifty also recouped the lost ground in the last half hour of trade and moved above its important psychological level of 8,650.

 

The buying also resumed in the auto stocks. After the Reserve Bank of India held on to the interest rates at its policy meeting the CNX auto index fell 1 per cent. But the buying resumed in the auto stocks at lower levels.

 

At 3:20 p.m., the Sensex was up 19 points at 28,523 and the 50-share Nifty advanced 8 points to 8,668 levels.
