Infrastructure conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced today that its construction arm has bagged a large order for its buildings and factories business from the Odisha government to construct the clinical blocks and allied infrastructure for a hospital in Cuttack. The duration of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project is 30 months and the value of the project is between Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 crore, according to a regulatory filing by L&T to the stock exchanges today.

The duration of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project is 30 months and the value of the project is between Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 crore, according to a regulatory filing by L&T to the stock exchanges today.
The project involves the construction of four clinical blocks comprising composite structural systems and other ancillary buildings. The facility will cover specialty departments such as neurology, nephrology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology, hepatology, cardiology, surgical blocks, casualty, trauma and general surgery with a total of 2,058 beds.
The scope of work includes the design and execution of architecture and structure–composite system, medical pneumatic tube systems, interior works, solar panels for energy efficiency, car park management system, asset management system, high velocity water spray, gas suppression system, among others. The work also involves maintenance of certain parts for a period of five years.
Earlier this month, L&T and Kemroc - a global manufacturer of attachments for excavators and backhoe loaders, entered into a distribution agreement that will facilitate Kemroc products to be distributed and promoted in the Indian market by the multinational conglomerate.
On Tuesday, shares of L&T settled 0.44 per cent higher at Rs 1,869.10 apiece on the BSE. L&T opened on BSE at Rs 1,858.90, registering an intra day high of Rs 1,872.40 and an intra day low of Rs 1,847, throughout the trading session today.
