Indian Battery Startups To See $500 Million Investment, Says IESA

Industry body India Energy Storage Alliance organised the Start-Up Connect program, part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

Industry body India Energy Storage Alliance has projected $500 million investment in Indian battery and mobility startup ecosystem within a year.

This investment will drive new innovations, research and development, and advancements in products manufactured by these startups, IESA said in a release.

Besides, this investment will also benefit a range of companies involved in Battery Management Systems, safety management, and component manufacturing.

The IESA organised the Start-Up Connect program in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp, during the Bharat Battery Show, part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

During the Start-Up Connect program, Panneerselvam Madanagopal, CEO of MeitY Startup Hub, demonstrated how India can collaborate with government entities to support the growth of this ecosystem jointly.

In addition, IESA is actively working to promote the start-up ecosystem through its start-up and innovation program, which is already collaborating with 400 start-ups and leading organisations such as UNIDO, iCreate, India Accelerator, VJTI-TBI, BCKIC, and other global entities, as well as investor communities, to provide investment support, mentorship, technology validation, and global partnerships.

"We project that our industry will attract over $500 million in investments within the year, enabling startups to drive groundbreaking innovations in battery technology and electric vehicle infrastructure. This will not only boost our capabilities, it will also support India's commitment to leading the charge in sustainable mobility and energy storage solutions," Debi Prasad Dash, President of IESA said.

The Bharat Battery Show, held as part of IESA's Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, experienced a remarkable turnout over three days, with over 30,000 visitors streaming in to explore the latest innovations and developments in the battery storage and recycling industry.
