Bharti Airtel Ltd. on Wednesday rolled out new international roaming packs, offering free incoming calls, free text messages to India and data benefits, along with free India calling minutes.
The new roaming packs come with a validity of one day and 30 days and the company will launch a 10-day pack in mid-October, India’s largest telecom operator said in a press release on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The one-day pack will cost $10 (Rs 649) in the U.S. and Canada and will offer unlimited incoming calls, 300 MB data, 100 minutes of India calling and unlimited texts to India.The 30-day pack will cost $75 (Rs 4,999) and will provide unlimited incoming calls, unlimited texts to India, 3 GB data and 400 minutes of calls to India.
The packs will be available to both prepaid and postpaid consumers.
“Charges for calls to India and local in-country calls have been reduced to as low as Rs 3/min across popular destinations. Post the exhaustion of pack data benefits, international roaming data will now be charged at just Rs 3/MB, a reduction of 99 percent from Rs 650/MB, so that customers can enjoy uninterrupted data usage without having to worry about bill charges,” the release added.
Bharti’s new international roaming pack comes just days after the company announced unlimited 4G internet at the cost of 1,495 for domestic users.
