US President Donald Trump's assertions that the Iranian military complex has been destroyed are strongly refuted by intelligence evaluations and military analysis. Despite significant infrastructure damage caused by US strikes, newly declassified US intelligence records show that Iran's key capabilities are still mostly functional.
On different occasions, Trump had repeatedly claimed Iran's ability to wage war has been severely undermined by US military operations. According to his claims, American forces had "obliterated" important military targets and demolished the great majority of Iran's missile production facilities.

However, compared to early Western projections, Iran is rebuilding its military-industrial base much more quickly. The declassified records show that Tehran is actively using a precarious six-week ceasefire that started in early April 2026 to rebuild its defence network, despite massive US and Israeli airstrikes under Operation Epic Fury earlier this year.
If the intel reports are believed, parts of Iran's production of attack drones have already been successfully resumed. Iran may be able to fully regain its pre-war drone strike capabilities in as little as six months, according to US officials.
According to report, Iran continues to pose a serious threat to regional allies should Trump resume the bombing campaign due to the rebuilding of military capabilities, which includes replacing missile sites, launchers, and production capacity for important weapons systems destroyed during the current conflict.
It also casts doubt on assertions about the long-term degradation of Iran's military caused by US-Israeli strikes, as reported by CNN.
One of the sources, a US official, told CNN that certain US intelligence estimates suggest Iran might fully rebuild its drone strike capabilities in as little as six months, but the period to restart manufacture of various weapons components varies.

The US official stated, "The Iranians have exceeded all timelines the IC had for reconstitution."
Regional allies are especially concerned about drone assaults. Iran could continue firing at Israel, and Gulf nations that are well within range of both weapon systems, if hostilities begin by increasing the number of drone launches it uses to bolster its severely reduced missile production capability.
These military weapons could be used since Trump has repeatedly threatened to resume combat operations against Iran if the two nations are unable to agree to end the war. On Tuesday, he openly stated that he was an hour away from resuming bombing.
