Iran’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said Israeli attacks this morning have targeted the country’s “territorial integrity and national sovereignty, including defensive infrastructure and non-military locations in various cities across the country.”

“The renewed military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran constitutes a violation of international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. The Islamic Republic of Iran considers this aggression a clear breach of international peace and security and emphasises that it reserves its legitimate right to respond decisively,” the ministry said in a statement.

Tehran has sought an urgent UN Security Council meeting.

Al Jazeera reported explosions in Kuwait and United Arab Emirates. 

The US has scrambled its embassy staff in countries around the region to safety.

Bahrain has confirmed that the headquarters of the US Navy’s 5th Fleet has been targeted by a missile attack. Explosions were heard near capital Manama. The government has instructed people to take shelter.

The Indian embassy in Bahrain has issued an advisory: "In view of the current regional situation, all Indian nationals in Bahrain are advised to take due care, and follow news and advisories as and when issued by the Embassy and local authorities. Our Embassy is continuing to function as usual. Embassy’s 24×7 helpline number is 00973-39418071"

Qatar’s Defence Ministry said that an Iranian missile has been intercepted by the Patriot defence system. The government has issued an alert on mobile devices, recommending all residents to stay indoors whether at home or elsewhere, away from military bases.

The country hosts US forces on its soil and came under attack last year during the 12-day Israel-Iran war.

Yemen's Iranian-backed Houthi rebels to resume attacks on shipping in the Red Sea corridor, two rebel officials have told news agency AP.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued statement:

"In response to the aggression of the hostile and criminal enemy against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the first wave of extensive missile and drone attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran toward the occupied territories has begun. Further updates will be announced subsequently through official channels."

Iran has begun its vowed retaliation against Israel. A barrage of missiles have been reportedly launched against Israeli targets.

The IDF said the Aerial Defense Array is currently identifying and intercepting threats. Explosions have been heard in northern Israel as country works to intercept incoming Iranian missiles, reported AP.

During the 12-day war in June, both sides fired off hundreds of missiles and armed drones at each other.

"My brothers and sisters, citizens of Israel, just an hour ago Israel and the USA launched an operation to remove the existential threat posed by the terror regime in Iran. I thank our great friend President Donald Trump for his historic leadership. For 47 years, the Ayatollah regime has been shouting 'Death to Israel,' 'Death to America.' It has spilled our blood, murdered many Americans, and massacred its own people.

This murderous terror regime must not be armed with nuclear weapons that would allow it to threaten all humanity. Our joint action will create the conditions for the brave Iranian people to take their fate into their own hands. 

The time has come for all parts of the Iranian people - Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Balochs, and Ahwazis - to cast off the yoke of tyranny and bring about a free and peace-loving Iran. I call on you, citizens of Israel, to heed the Home Front Command's instructions. In the coming days, during Operation 'Roar of the Lion,' we will all be required to show endurance and strength of spirit.

Together we will stand, together we will fight, and together we will ensure the eternity of Israel."

"This is a humanitarian intervention; and its target is the Islamic Republic, its repressive apparatus, and its machinery of slaughter—not the country and great nation of Iran," said Iran' exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi amid Iran-Israel escalating tensions.

Iranian media has reported President Masoud Pezeshkian has not been harmed in recent aggression against the country.

The Delhi Airport told passenger westbound international flights may experience disruptions or schedule adjustments due to the Middle East conflict.

An Air India spokesperson said an AI139 operating from Delhi to Tel Aviv today is returning to India due to the closure of airspace in Israel and in the interest of the safety of passengers and crew. "We will continue to assess the safety and security environment for our flight operations and adjust operations proactively as needed."

IndiGo said it is closely monitoring regional updates concerning Iran and its airspace and likely implement any necessary adjustments as the situation evolves.

OPEC will consider the option of a larger supply increase when key members meet on Sunday, after Israel launched airstrikes on targets in Iran, according to a delegate. The group led by Saudi Arabia and Russia was expected to resume modest production increases from April after a three month supply freeze, several delegates said earlier this week.

Iran is preparing for a "crushing response" to US and Israeli aggression, according to local media. The area near Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei's residence in the capital Tehran has been secured.

Chairman of the Parliament's National Security Committee said: "The end of these attacks is no longer with you (the enemy)."

US-Israel "have started path no longer in your control", said Head of Iran's Security Committee Ebrahi Azizi.

"Our aim is to eliminate threats from the Iranian regime," Donald Trump said in a video statement on Truth Social.

"Iran has waged a campaign of mass murder... We are not going to put up with their actions any longer. We sought repeatedly to make a deal with Iran but they rejected every opportunity to renounce nuclear weapons. The US military is undertaking massive ongoing operations and we are going to destroy Iran's missile capabilities," he said.

India has issued an advisory for Indian nationals in Iran after Israel's preemptive strikes.

Iranian cities hit by joint US-Israel attacks, according to local media, are Tehran, Karaj and Tabriz.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was not in Tehran during Israeli airstrikes, reported news agency Reuters.

Just hours ago, US President Donald Trump said the risk of a broader conflict in the Middle East is possible if the nuclear negotiations with Iran fails and the US chooses military option. "There's always a risk... It would be wonderful if they negotiate in good faith and conscience. But they are not getting there," he told reporters.

The remarks came amid ongoing talks between US and Iranian officials in Geneva, which mediators said would continue next week after no breakthrough was achieved. At the same time, Washington has significantly increased its military presence around Iran, one of the largest regional deployments in over two decades, comparable to levels seen before the Iraq War in 2003. The two countries resumed indirect talks on Tehran's nuclear programme in Oman earlier this month.

 "We haven't made a final decision (on Iran). We're not exactly happy with the way they're negotiating. They cannot have nuclear weapons," Trump said.

The Israel Defence Forces said sirens were sounded all throughout the country, with an advance instruction alert directly to cellular devices to stay within proximity to protected spaces. "This is a proactive alert to prepare the public for the possibility of missiles being launched toward the State of Israel. The IDF emphasizes that the public is requested to stay in proximity to protected spaces," a statement on X said.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared a state of emergency as he announced the strike, and said the country expects to come under drone and missile attack in the immediate future, Bloomberg News reported. The country's airspace has been shut.
