Iran's Iranian Students' News Agency has pushed back against parts of a report by Axios, calling elements of it speculative and based on unverified information. The agency said the US proposal includes “ambitious and unrealistic” terms, adding that Tehran has already rejected such provisions in recent days.
According to IRNA report, Iran has dismissed key elements of a reported U.S.-Iran peace framework as speculative, with state-linked media pushing back against claims of a broader agreement.
A spokesperson for Iran's National Security Commission said that parts of a report by Axios reflect “American wishlists” rather than the reality of ongoing negotiations.

Citing information carried by Iranian Students' News Agency, the report said the U.S. proposal contains “ambitious and unrealistic” provisions that Tehran has already rejected in recent days.
“What they failed to obtain in face-to-face negotiations, they will not achieve through a lost war,” a spokesperson for Iran's National Security Commission was quoted as saying, warning of a “harsh response” if pressure tactics continue.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told ISNA that while the U.S. proposal remains under review, Iran will communicate its formal position to mediators in Pakistan once internal assessments are complete.
Iranian media also suggested that recent U.S. reports may be aimed at diverting attention from the failure of Washington's “Project Freedom” initiative.
Earlier the Axios report had outlined a potential deal involving multiple provisions, including nuclear-related commitments—claims Tehran strongly denies. According to IRNA, officials emphasised that current discussions are narrowly focused on ending hostilities, with no negotiations underway on the nuclear issue at this stage.
