Filmmaker Mohit Suri's Saiyaara has witnessed a strong start at the domestic box office, earning an estimated Rs 83 crore in its first three days. The movie collected Rs 21 crore on its opening day on Friday and continued to see a strong footfall at theatres during the opening weekend.
It earned Rs 25 crore on Saturday and Rs 37 crore on Sunday at the domestic box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The Mohit Suri directorial has garnered around Rs 45 lakh on Day 4 on July 21, as per early estimates by Sacnilk.
This film marks the big-screen debut of Ahaan Panday and Punjab-based actress Aneet Padda. Produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara is a romantic drama that made headlines even before its release due to record advance bookings.
On Saturday, Saiyaara makers said that the movie which was released in 8,000 screens, is the biggest opening day release ever for a debutant-led film, career-best opening for director Suri, and the highest opening day for a love story.
Saiyaara: 'The Second Blockbuster Of 2025'
The movie saw a strong response ahead of release, with nearly 1,95,000 tickets sold across major multiplex chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis for the opening day, Sacnilk reported.
Earlier, film critic Taran Adarsh said that the film has appealed to audiences in not just metro cities, but also in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Midnight shows were being added to handle the growing demand, he said on Sunday.
"Going by current trends, Saiyaara is set to become the second blockbuster of 2025, after Chhaava," Adarsh predicted. Vickey Kaushal's Chhaava, released in February, became the biggest movie of 2025 by earning over Rs 600 crore in India.

According to Adarsh's review, it is a "well-packaged entertainer" with a gripping screenplay and impactful dialogues.
