According to a recent report by MacRumors, Apple has informed some retail employees that its next major iPhone event will take place during the first half of September.
The report said September 8 or September 9 are among the likely dates.
However, several reports have leaned towards September 9. A recent Forbes report also identified September 9 as the most likely date for Apple's keynote, although the company has not confirmed the schedule.

Apple traditionally announces its new iPhones in September, although the exact day changes each year. For example, the company held its iPhone 17 launch event on September 9, 2025, before opening pre-orders on September 12.
When Could Pre-Orders Begin?
If Apple holds its event on September 9, the next question would be when customers can place their orders. MacRumors has suggested that pre-orders could begin on September 11 or September 12.
However, September 11 marks the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which could lead Apple to choose September 12 instead, according to the report.
The September 12 date would be unusual, as Apple generally starts iPhone pre-orders on a Friday. The company has, however, adjusted its schedule in the past when calendar circumstances required it.
When Could The iPhone 18 Pro Go On Sale?
Based on the expected launch schedule, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could reach stores on September 18, according to recent reports. That timeline would broadly follow Apple's usual pattern of beginning sales around a week after unveiling its new iPhones.
